Mission Statement

The mission of the Greece Police Department is to safeguard life, property, and the community, maintain peace and public order through constitutional policing, enforce laws, prevent crime and educate the public.

Where is the Greece Police Department located?

*GPD Headquarters is currently under construction. Public access for police services will be relocated to 647 Long Pond Rd.


The Greece Police Headquarters (Precinct #1) is located at 6 Vince Tofany Blvd., Greece, New York 14612.

Precinct #2 is located at 500 Maiden Lane, Rochester, New York 14616.

What are the hours of operation?

Office hours are Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Does the Police Department offer fingerprinting for residents?

Yes, at Police Headquarters. Children are fingerprinted for free,  Adults – $10 fee for 1-2 cards, $20 fee for 3-4 cards, etc.

Does the Police Department offer photo identification for residents?

No, these can be obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Greece Police Department is recognized as one of the finest in the nation. Continual feedback from the citizens it serves is vital to improving all aspects of the Police Department. We encourage your comments and suggestions.

To formally recognize an officer or employee you may contact his/her Supervisor or Command Officer by telephone at 585-865-9200. You may also write the Chief directly or utilize the Service Evaluation form.

How can I get a police report for myself?

With certain limitations, the Greece Police Department can issue you a report if you were the victim of a crime. Reports can be obtained from the Records Office at the Greece Police Department Headquarters.

How can I get a police report about someone else?

You must file a Freedom of Information request with the Town Clerk. Click HERE to print a hardcopy and fax or mail it back to the Town Clerk. New York State law determines what, if any, information can be released.

How do I obtain a pistol permit?

Applications for pistol permits are only available through the Monroe County Clerk’s Office at 39 West Main Street, Rochester, New York 14614.
