The Town of Greece is currently accepting applications for Entry-Level Police Officer applicants and qualified Lateral Transfer Officer candidates.
The Greece Police Department appoints Police Officers through two processes:
ENTRY-LEVEL APPLICANTS
An appointment to the Greece Police Department requires placement on the Monroe County Civil Service Commission’s list of eligible applicants for the position of Police Officer. This testing process must be completed by any applicant who does not meet lateral transfer criteria. Information about upcoming examinations for the Police Officer position can be found on the Monroe County Employment Page:
LATERAL TRANSFER APPLICANTS
A police officer who has permanent civil service status in the title of Police Officer with another municipality in New York State, with the exception of the New York State Police or the City of New York, may seek to transfer to the Greece Police Department. The transfer is subject to the approval of the Monroe County Civil Service Commission.
