Mission Statement

The mission of the Greece Police Department is to safeguard life, property, and the community, maintain peace and public order through constitutional policing, enforce laws, prevent crime and educate the public.

The Town of Greece is currently accepting applications for qualified Lateral Transfer Officer Candidates

The Town of Greece Police Department uses two methods to appoint Police Officers:

1) An appointment from the Monroe County Civil Service Commission list of eligible applicants for the position of Police Officer.  This testing process must be completed by any applicant seeking employment that does not meet the lateral transfer criteria.  To inquire about future examinations for the position of Police Officer details may be found on the  Monroe County Employment Page

2) A police officer who has permanent civil service status in the title of Police Officer with another municipality in New York State with the exception of the New York State Police or the City of New York may seek to transfer to the Greece Police Department.  The transfer is subject to the approval of the Monroe County Civil Service Commission.
