Chief Michael Wood
It is my honor to serve as the Town’s eighth chief of police since the department was established in January 1932. The Greece Police Department remains committed to our stated mission, which can be seen immediately below this message.
Since 2022, the Department has made significant progress in critical areas as outlined in our strategic plan, Personnel Development, Technology, Process Excellence and Mission Effectiveness. This has been our path to improved professionalism and capacity building within the organization to better serve the community, now and into the future.
We all know that public safety is a shared responsibility, and the societal challenges we face require collaboration between the community and police. The Greece community has been outstanding in this regard, and I encourage everyone to get involved with crime prevention efforts, report suspicious activity, drive safely and responsibly, and support our officers as we collectively work toward safer neighborhoods and streets for all.
As we move forward, I remain deeply committed to continuous improvement, and we will evolve, adapt, and grow as an organization to meet the ever-changing needs of our community and society. I am confident that with this mindset we will rise to meet the inevitable challenges ahead. Thank you for your ongoing trust and support, it truly makes a difference.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Greece Police Department is to safeguard life, property, and the community, maintain peace and public order through constitutional policing, enforce laws, prevent crime and educate the public.
